How does financial aid work?

How does the Financial Aid Appeal process work?

  • I am at my third quarter at a community college. The first quarter I did horrible with 2 Pass and 2 Ds. On my 2nd quarter I did better with 1 B- 1 C and 2 Pass. However my GPA is not over the minimum of 2.0gpa required by financial aid and I have been disqualified for financial aid. My question is how does the financial aid appeal process work? If I am able to get an appeal will I still get the same amount awarded? or will I miss the payout coming up this week? If I don't get my appeal can I reapply for financial aid when meet their guidelines?

  • Answer:

Did you get any loans? If not your good. You may appeal but there in a long paper trail. You have to go to the Fa office to get the forms. Write a letter stating why you fell below the minimum GPA. Have documentation. Doctors notes anything that can tell your school why you didn't perform at your best. I think it will be close to the amount you got before if it is approved. Good luck. Go talk to the FA office they are there to help.
