  • Answer:

Normally your school can tell you where to go. Otherwise maybe check out "Stafford Substidized school loans" on the internet.

You can try Sallie Mae. I have an existing loan for my AA that I've been paying off since graduating. Now I'm back in school and they're my lender again. I've also heard of that Astrive Student Loan company, but I'm not sure exactly how they work. But I know that Chase Bank has started offering student loan options that allows you to defer payments until after you graduate. I know I hate filling out those FAFSAs! What a pain.

Have you submitted the FAFSA? If not, do it. The only way to get federally subsidized loans (loans that defer the payments until after graduation and have low and reasonable interest rates) is to at least apply for them. I worked in admission at a selective liberal arts college for four years - and saw a lot of students who didn't think that they would qualify actually get aid. Submit the FAFSA online at www.fafsa.ed.gov and it will only take about three days for the government to process it and get the information back to the school. Trust me, it will be worth it to at least try. After that, your school's financial aid office will be able to help you with the rest of the details about how to coordinate the rest of the pieces.

you can get a normal stafford loan since your not eligible for fasfa but can apply for a private loan you can request up to $40,000 but it may be best if you have someone as a co-loaner to increase your chances of getting the loan.

In order to get a federal loan you have to apply using the FAFSA. Are you saying that you are not eligible for a grant or a scholarship, or a federal loan? If you are not eligible for any of those types of federal aid, you can always get a private loan.
