What are the best ways to fundraise?

I'm trying to go to Nashville for a Journalism Convention, but I need to fundraise. at our school we are not alloud to sell candy, or soda.

How about a marathon race or a lottery. With a lottery, you will have to go out and get sponsors to donate goods. You can ask parents if they can provide a job service (like interior decorating, a home cooked meal, graphic design, etc).

What about a car wash or a rummage sale? you can get everyone to come to school or a gas station on a Saturday and you will have fun too!
