How long should it take for me to receive my financial aid check?

How long can I receive FAFSA? (Financial aid)?

• Hello, I have 94 units under my belt at a community college and therefore was disqualified to receive financial aid for this semester. The cap to receive financial aid at a community college is 90 units. What is the cap for units you can take at a CSU? I'm wondering on whether or not I should drop out this semester at the community college, to rain check those units at a CSU. Do you know if that CSU cap amount counts for transfer units as well?? I really appreciate your help and advice!

  Even though you will have more room to work with if you were to go for your bachelors.... you have another problem that I am betting you haven't even thought of FAFSA, effective 2012 has reduced the number of total semesters down from 18 semesters to 12 semesters If you have 7 semesters (just guessing based on 94 units), then you only have a total of 5 semesters left on FAFSA before you run completely out Given that only some of your CC credits will transfer to Uni, it is easy to imagine that you have dawdled your way into not being able to complete a degree without paying out-of-pocket this having been said, it would be cheaper for you to pay out-of-pocket at cc to complete an associates degree than it will be for you to pay out-of-pocket at the uni for you to complete your bachelor's degree If you are past your drop-add date, then you are out-of-your-mind to drop-out this semester.... why? because these will all be I's or W's as well as wasting 1 of those precious 12 semesters on a semester you did not complete
