from a college, they will give you a set amount of money to go to their school. I am going into college next year, Adrian college gave me a 10,000 dollar scholarship to go there for academics. So if i go there i would get 10,000 dollars towards tuition. they give it because it is an incentive to go there. colleges are like business in a way. it is like getting a coupon.
