Financial Aid for college courses while still in high school?

Does my attempted hours at a previous college effect my financial aid?

  • I'm currenty enrolled in school.....my aid for fall semester was 2775. My classes were only 1980. I called the school I'm enrolled in cause they said I have a positive balance on my account. When I called in spoke wit someone they gave me the run around then told me I only have 6 credit hours on my fall schedule when on my account and schedule for this fall says I enrolled full-time 12 hours. Then, they changed their mind in told me I took too many remedial courses but my transcript from a previous college didnt transfer and I never received any aid until this fall semester. If my previous transcript didnt transfer and I never received financial aid at the previous collge would my attempted hours count from that previous college?

  • Answer:

I understand you to say your "Courses" from your previous college, did not transfer. However, You did send the college a transcript of your classes, from your previous college. Only 60 credit hours can be transferred and the course level should be 100 or above. Comp101 is a transferable course , but communications (Comm080) is not. You need to sit down with an advisor and go over your transcript, so you know what courses the college will accept and where you stand course wise.
