What are room and board expenses?

Funding for living expenses/room/board fees?

I applied in a German university without tuition fees. But I could not lodge a student visa application because I don't have sufficient funds for living expenses/room/board fees. Do you know any funding opportunities specifically for those things (living expenses, etc.) ? I can't find one in DAAD. Thanks.

I'm posting the link for the DAAD scholarship database again in case you just didn't find the site: http://www.daad.de/deutschland/foerderung/stipendiendatenbank/00462.en.html If none of those aplly to you, it's gonna be difficult.Most students take Bafoeg, thus there are not many other opportunities. You could try to get a loan for students, which usually have lower interest rates, google for Studentenkredit, but have someone who knows about that review the conditions before signing.
