Will FAFSA pay for drivers education?
-
I live in CA and at my local community college for both drivers classes together its about $345 and my parent doesnt have the funds to pay for it (im 16 and have college classes over the summer plus college classes during highschool next year) and i need to be able to take myself places. I am already eligable for fafsa and signed up for it but can i sue it to pay for the drivers ed?

Answer:
No. You can't get federal financial aid through the FAFSA application until you have graduated from high school and only for college credit classes working towards a degree or approved certificate program classes. Driver's ed classes don't meet this criteria. You can't be eligible for fafsa assistance yet.... not until after you graduate. It won't pay for concurrent enrollment classes either.

Money will only be sent to the college(s) you go to, the government does not write you a big fat check and send you it in the mail, then expect you to use it responsibly. No one would ever go to college and the government would be broke if that did happen! Colleges get the money and if--IF--there is anything left over then you get a refund from them and may use it as you please, but it's not very likely you will get yourself leftovers.

Not, FAFSA will not pay for that. You may only receive Federal financial as a degree seeking studnet at an accredited school. And you must be a high school grad (or equivalent) Because your driver's ed. classes are not in pursuit of a degree and you have not yet graduated high school, FAFSA cannot help you.
