Anybody been to ITT TECH?

Community College or ITT Tech? Which one would be best for a single mom?

  • I am not sure which one to choose, the community college is cheaper, and has a daycare in the school, but Itt tech would enable me to finish sooner without a bunch of classes that dont pertain to what I want to do. But I plan on living off financial aid while attending school, I'm not sure that would be an option if going to itt tech? I need money for rent, gas, daycare, etc. not sure if financial aid would cover this and a more expensive school? Thanks to anyone with advice and answers...

Community college. You can get better paying jobs with the right degree. If you need money fast go get a certificate. Takes 1 year. I did and got my LVN. You can make up to $25.00/hr with an LVN working agency. Remember it can be temporary. Once you are making money you can go after something else and pursue your dreams.

I would go with community because it keeps your options open.

Definately community college. I went to a school called ATI (American Technical Institute) which is very similar to ITT and it hasn't really helped me at all in the career world. I think a degree from a community college will help you much more, plus you stated it has daycare which will help you with your child. When I went to university (graduated May 2005 finally with my Bachelors...yay!) I did financial aid and now i'm paying back $120 a month which isn't bad at all, totally worth it for my degree, even though i'm not really using it right now lol....but i'm glad I do have it for later on in my life. I highly recommend the community college. Good luck!

community college, you can get a better paying job with an associate's degree. I don't know much about ITT tech, but I hear that they have good job placement after you graduate. But for your case, I would go to community school because it is cheaper, takes care of daycare while you are busy, and you get your degree.

If you got student loans, i think they can be used for anything. Have you considered an on-line school? Some of them are really rather good, infact im in one now. lol and should be doing homework. Cheers

Depends on what you're going for. Check their accreditation from your state. Also, if you're ever planning on pursuing further education, many times credits from technical schools won't transfer to colleges or universities. Ask for this information before making a decision. Also ask about job placement services and for local references. Also, apply for scholarships! Try www.fastweb.org.
