Does OSAP (ontario student assistance program) pay money weekly? how does it work?

  • I want a OSAP (Ontario Student Assistance Program) loan for not only my tuition but living expenses as well (rent, etc) I was wondering if they pay you weekly or how does it really work?

    You apply. OSAP decides how much you are entitled to. Youor funding comes in 2 chunks - 1 around the time you start school. It's 60% of the total amount. The rest comes halfway through your program. You are expected to pay your tuition and other costs first and then whatever remains is deposited into your bank account. Be aware that depending on the cost of your program, you may have a very small amount left over for rent and living expenses. If you are a single person you will probaly have to get a job.
