How much can i get with finacial aid?

• My mom makes little to no money and people say ill go to college for free but then people say that you can only get up to 5 hgrand on financial aid

  Take a step back and relax. 1) Fill out FAFSA--> www.fafsa.ed.gov -after you have filled out your FAFSA, you will be notified of you EFC(Estimated family contribution) which will tell you how much (after financial aid) your parents will have to come up with. 2) Get copies of your parents (or your own) tax returns (1040) 3) If you are unemployed you will not need your W-2 form. If you are employed, your employer should have this for you. 4) only put information on your forms where information is asked ESPECIALLY your Social Security number. 5) bring these forms in to your school and ask if you can provide anymore information. The initial process of enrolling requires the acquisition of many forms. Many tend to get disgruntled or discouraged at how slow and inefficient the process is but, many students every year do not get the information they need to their school in time and lose their financial aid.(It happened to a friend of mine and I've filled out his forms ever since) You'll be fine just follow the steps and be persistent with those secretaries :) Good Luck!!
