How To Prepare A Resume?

How do I prepare a Pastoral Resume?

  • Answer:

I find the best way to prepare a Pastoral resume is the same way you would create a resume for a job. The first step would be to compile all of your experience in ministry into cronological order, then your work experience, education, etc. Do not worry about length, that comes later. Once you have everything in one place, look for a format that is visually pleasing to you, but is simple. Word of warning: Many MS Word templates for resumes have complex layouts that can be difficult to customize for you. Once you have a layout decided on, put all of your information with as much detail as you can in it. Once that is complete then you write out two things. Write you personal tesimony on a separate document, and write out your calling from God in 1 paragraph (this will go on the top of your resume). Your testimony should reinforce what you say in your calling. Put this all together and you have your complete CV (Curiculum Vitae - Educational Life). Save this document then go back and edit and erase until it gets down to about 2 pages and there you go. This is a good excercise as it helps you become more thorough.
