Should I take a student loan?

I'm a university student and I want to take out a personal loan.?

  • Hi, I'm 21and i'm a university student at Massey University in Auckland, I have just received permanent residence status so I do not qualify for the Studylink student loan as there is a 2 year stand down, I want to take out a personal loan of about $20 000 to pay for my fees and accommodation. I recently got a part time job in a call centre and I am able to pay monthly installments for the loan and I have no previous credit history. My first paycheck only comes in at the end of the month and I live far from the University so travel expenses are getting a bit hectic, also the University is bugging me to pay fees ASAP. What is the possibility of me getting this loan by myself or would it be a better idea to get a parent to cosign on the loan for me. I have a student account at BNZ

  • Answer:
