What is the current level of JSA?

Advice about Grants and Loans/JSA. Singe Parent on JSA. I want to do foundation degree, help appreciated?

• I am a single parent and am currently doing Teaching Assistant Level 3 and doing Voluntary work Placement at a school 3 days a week. My daughter will turn 5 next academic year so I will come off Income Support and on to JSA. I AM genuinely looking for a job that will start in September (all kids will be full time at school) that suits around everything. I am really interested in doing the Support Teaching and Learning Foundation degree. Now within 30 miles radius NO colleges do it full-time. So it will be 3 years part-time. JSA are very strict and wont allow me to do this course, they expect me to find work. Which is fair enough I will be genuinely looking. BUT what will happen if i cant find work? Will they stop my JSA if I start this degree? What kind of help can I get financially if I do this degree & can't find a job? Any help would be brilliant. Thank You

  I know how you feel. I want to become a teacher but i had to quit my access course in order to just live. I am looking for a job which will allow me to go back to college but they are so few and far between i dont think i will ever get there. Ironically the government are screaming out for male primary school teachers but its pretty much impossible because that same government makes it impossible for me to do this, yet at the same time they will willingly let people who have never worked a day in their lives, and have no intention of working carry on claiming for stuff. I have worked all my life so im not adverse to it but when you have worked all your life and paid loads of taxes you are bottom of the pile it seems. I do hate this country sometimes, everything is backwards and favours those who are lazy and cant be bothered.
