Can I transfer from Devry to a State University?

How can I smoothly transfer to an out-of-state university?

  • I'm 17 and attending a community college, I was homeschooled so I got my GED. I'm just starting and I'm going to get my A.A. here....but I want to transfer to a good university in Washington State or Oregon and my dream college has always been University of Washington. I plan to make a very high GPA...my goal is to get a 4.0 which I don't think is too much since it's community college. Is University of Washington very hard to get accepted into? If so how can I increase my chances of getting in as a transfer student? And what are the best ways to fiancially handle out of state tuition? When should I started applying...now...or halfway through my second year of associates....also what scholarships are available to me if I make this out of state move if I am recieving the full %100 pell grant right now? Wiull I still recieve that? My question doesn't just apply to UW but ANY legitimate university institute out of state....how hard is it transferring?

  • Answer:

" I was homeschooled so I got my GED" Homeschooling is a valid and well recognized method od schooling. Why would you take the GED? It is usually easier to get into competitive Universities as a 3rd or 4th yr transfer student over getting in as a freshman, but how easily you can get in really depends on your major. If it is a major that is often dropped you could very likely get in with a 4.0 GPA as long as you have credits in the prerequisites.
