Scholarships are a form of financial aid. Financial aid is a source of money that helps you pay for college. You can read more about financial aid here: http://www.studentfinancedomain.com/financial_aid/financial_aid.aspx You can read about scholarships here: http://www.studentfinancedomain.com/financial_aid/college_scholarship.aspx Here are some sites that offer scholarships: http://www.fedmoney.org/ http://www.findtuition.com/scholarships/ http://apps.collegeboard.com/cbsearch_ss/welcome.jsp http://www.freegovmoney.net/ http://www.educationplanner.com/education_planner/paying_article.asp?sponsor=2859&articleName=Grants_and_Scholarships http://www.studentawards.com/ http://www.college-scholarships.com/ Student loans are also another form of financial aid. The best type of student loan to get is a federal student loan. To get one here's what you need to do: 1) Fill out the FAFSA. This will determine if you are eligible for financial aid. Go here: http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/ 2) Once you are eligible for aid, choose a government-based student loan. The best loan to get is a Federal Perkins Loan. These have low interest rates and the government will help you pay it back as long as you stay enrolled in school. You also don't need a cosigner or good credit for it. For more info go here: http://www.studentfinancedomain.com/student_loans/perkins_student_loans.aspx 3) The next best loan to get is a Subsidized Stafford Loan. This has many of the same benefits as a Perkins Loan. Learn more here: http://www.studentfinancedomain.com/student_loans/subsidized_stafford_loan.aspx I hope this helps! Good luck!

financial aid is money given to you, by the government or private organizations, to help pay for college. You can either get grants or loans. Grants you will never have to pay back, but loans you must start paying back when you leave school. All you have to do is fill out the financial aid form at your school. Scholarships are usually given for academic and athletic achievement. They sometimes have stipulations like maintaining a 3.5 GPA, or playing on the Football team. They are grants, so you don't need to pay them back.

you need to fill out the fasfa to see if you are eligible for government aid done through a financial institution such as wachovia. its called a federal stafford loan, and you dont have to pay it back unless you are out of school. its different from a scholarship because a scholarship you dont have to payback.

Another type of financial aid is Work Study. In exchange for working a campus job (library, college department, sport facility) you get paid money to help you pay for school. This is different than a regular student worker because you have to complete the federal student aid FAFSA and get awarded money for work study. You will not get the money in one lump some, you will be paid a wage for your work. Some jobs involve little actual work and actually leave you time to study, while others are all work. If you're offered work study and are able to get a job in your department of study, it's definitely a plus. You get to know the professors really well and that always helps if you're having trouble getting into a class you want or you need a reference. Good Luck!

Financial aid is the overall, general term for all the avenues in which you can receive money towards your college education. First, you’ve got Scholarships. This is money awarded to you based on merit that will not have to be paid back. You can qualify for scholarships while you’re still in high school by putting in a little research. This may include talking to a guidance counselor, friends, family, or affiliated organizations. The web is also an incredible resource for finding scholarships that closely match your qualifications. Either way, apply early and don’t be afraid to ask for what you want. Remember, many scholarships go unused every year! The next step in financial aid is Federal Grants. Grants differ from scholarships because they are awarded based on need, but are also similar in that grants do not have to be paid back. There are two types of federal grants: Pell Grants and Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grants. In order to find out if you qualify for one of these grants, you must fill out a Free Application for Federal Student Aid Form, or FAFSA. Once again, the earlier the better. We’re talking any time after the first of the year, as these grants are awarded on a first-come first-served basis. Right now, the Pell Grant awards up to $4,050 a year, and the FSEOG awards up to $4,000 a year. After you have added scholarships and grants up against your college’s tuition, there may still be a need for more financial aid. The best loan options are always Federal Loans. After you fill out a FAFSA form, the government will assess your need and send you an awards letter of the loans that are available to you. The Stafford Loan and Perkins Loan come with a multitude of benefits and safeguards for students to create an easier and more affordable college experience. Lastly, there is a federal program called Work Study, offered at campuses nationwide. This is a great option for students who need more money to cover living expenses, but do not want to work off-campus. Work Study programs work around your school schedule, and are designed not to hamper your studies. If you plan on applying for work study funds, contact your college’s financial aid office early to see what jobs are available. For more information on financial aid, please visit the source below. Goodluck, and I hope this helps!
