Scholarship for an international student?

  • I am from Iran. I live and study at the moment at MMU ( Multimedia University ) in Malaysia. I am studying Computer Science. As hard as I might try, I can't get a scholarship. there is no scholarship program for international students here in Malaysia. My CGPA is 3.8 as I speak. I don't even get a discount, I have to pay full price. First qualification for scholarship is to be a Malaysian citizen which I am not. My country doesn't support me either, so the only scholarship I have is of my fathers. free of interest, just the bad feeling I have for burdening my dad. MY QUESTION: is there any scholarships you know of in Malaysia for international students? is there any for my master's? How about in a foreign country(i.e. USA, Europe, Canada, Australia ... )? are they as discriminating when it comes to giving scholarships?

    Depending on what country you are originally coming from, I suggest you take a look over here: http://www.scholarshipportal.eu/#advanced Note that this website is actually just for Europe, but the amount of offers for almost all countries foreign to European countries (including other european countries) can apply to many scholarships here. Some will ask you to only apply to their scholarship however, so be aware of that as you try searching for a scholarship to study in Europe.

Its the same situation in Australia - only Australian citizens get a cheap education - that is the way it should be. How much tax has your father maid to the Malaysian government to help support the tertiary institutions? nothing. so why should the Malaysian government give you money to study there? International education is NOT a right. Study in your own country or a nearby country or look for a single term semester program if you are wanting to study internationally.
