Can I transfer college?

Can I transfer my finical aide to another college? ?

  • Ok I currently go to Virginia college in Birmingham al but I heard you can't transfer credits to another college so be for I waste more time I want to transfer to Jeff state. I've only been going to VC for 2 weeks & a half so is it possible I can transfer to Jeff state??? & what all will i go through?

    You don't necessarily transfer your financial aid, all the schools you wanted to attend should have been listed on FAFSA, and each school should have had a copy of your tax papers if a verification was being asked for.

No, VC has already claimed their payment (your Fin Aid) However, the new academic year starts in Aug 2012 If you leave VC (either finish the quarter or don't... you still have to pay the student loans either way.... better to finish what you start, they don't give discount or charge less if you leave early)... anyway, if you leave VC after this quarter, you can then use any remaining FAFSA 2011-2012 for Summer at Jeff State Otherwise, you can start at Jeff State in Aug 2012 If you are going for Associates Degree in medical billing & coding.... you need to consider getting your pre-req's at Jeff State & then go to either Bishop or Wallace for your HIT.... those are the only 2 programs that are CAHIIM accredited to sit for RHIT (AHIMA) exam.... well, UAB but that is a Bachelor's Degree program None of your VC credits will transfer to any State School. We had the same situation... Sharon Petty at VC claimed they were CAHIIM (but they aren't) Brandon took 1 quarter at VC.... that is... essentially...money pissed in the wind He completed his quarter & transferred to Wallace State for pre-req's..... because we are in Birmingham, he takes his BIO at Jeff State..... he commutes to Cullman for his other 3 classes If you get your paperwork for admissions and Fin Aid done NOW for Jeff State, you might make it in by summer..... I say this because deadline for Fin Aid for Summer just passed (it was March 1 at both Jeff State & Wallace).... deadline to start in Aug 2012 is June 1 If you miss Fall deadline, your Fin Aid paperwork won't get done in time for you to start.... they have thousands of students to process
