Double majoring in college, is it difficult?

Does anyone know of any schoalrships for 1st generation college student who is a female majoring in biology?

  • Good afternoon, I am a high school senior in rural Vermont. I'm the first person in my family to go to college, received a 25 on my ACT and have a 3.7 unweighted GPA. My family income is very low and my parents were on food stamps for 2 months last year after both being laid off. I have also held a job throughout high school not only to help will the bills but to pay for the 72 college credits that I have completed. With all of this said, I am still expected to contribute $14k on the most generous financial aid award from the 5 colleges that I was accepted. Does anyone know of any scholarships for which I could be eligible? I have applied to all of my matches on Zinch, Cappex, Scholarships and Fastweb.com....still no luck. If anyone knows of any scholarships for a first generation white girl majoring in biology out of state, please help me out. Thanks so much!

  • Answer:

Have you considered looking at in-state schools? if you were to consider an in-state school, they could possibly help you with some state aid this is something that isn't offered when you are an out-of-state student also, work-study might help
