Why do some internships require college credit?

Are there any college loans that I can apply for that doesn't require credit checks?

  • I am planning to attend Hawai'i Pacific University in the spring of 2007. My credit history is not so well and i'm more than positive that i won't be able to find a co-signer for my college loan. How can i go about this? I really want to attend HPU... HELP?

There are tons of scholarships that go unclaimed each year. Many $400, $500 or $1000 scholarships never even get applied for because people think it's chump change and not worth applying for. Well, get a few of those $500 scholarships and it'll really make a dent in your tuition bill. Do a search on scholarships, search your major, your ethnic heritage, your town, your parents employers, your employer, hobbies, high school, local chamber of commerce/rotary/ lion's club etc. Left-handed? There is a scholarship out there for you! Older woman returning to school? There are scholarships out there for you. Do combined searches on more than one criteria "hispanic women aviation scholarships" etc. Go to the library and ask the reference librarian for a reference book on scholarships. They usually have more than one. There are all kinds of scholarships out there, you just have to start applying yourself and make it your summer career to send out letters everyday for scholarships. Good luck!

First off you should fill out your FAF and see what they can offer you. You can pick one up at any college or from any high school counselors office. It's also possible you could qualify for grants by doing this. Good Luck. Work on trying to improve your credit in the mean time. If you are really in trouble try contacting Consumer Credit Counseling Service, they are good if you are behind on payments on loans and credit cards, and they will help you get everything paid off, not by giving you money though, and they will work with you to start re-instating credit.

I doubt it. all loans are credit check, if it was that simple many people will be getting loans and not paying back.

Yes you should fill out your FASFA first because alot of student loans dont require the best of credit. My credit is not to hot but -- I am attending a 4yr university with student loans. With the FASFA the school can help you link up with the best lender.
