How can I clear my student loan history?

Where can i get a student loan with a limited credit history and no co-borrower?

  • I have only had credit for 3 months now. I need to get a student loan asap. But i don't have a co-borrower in which in most of the time is needed. Where can i get a loan with a limited credit history and no co-borrower.

  • Answer:

I assume you are speaking of schools in the USA? If the school you attend is eligible for federal funding, you can apply for a Stafford loan with no credit check or co-signer. Since you are in need of funding fast, complete your FAFSA form first. This form will calculate your eligibility as well as look for free money. What ever you do, DO NOT use credit cards for tuition unless you pay them off quickly ( and when I mean quickly I mean within a couple of months) otherwise the interest will skyrocket.

Talk to the financial aid adviser at your school. If you have a financial need for the money such as low-income, you will be able to get a federal loan without a co-borrower. If you (or your parents if you are under 24) make to much money, you may have to take out a private loan which most likely will require a co-signer. If you are really in a pinch, you could max out your credit cards... but that will most likely get you in trouble later!

First you need to apply with FAFSA. You can do it at the blog below. I always checked with them first, and usually got all the money I needed.
