How to narrow down in applying college scholarships?

When is the best time to start applying for scholarships and for college?

• I'm a junior in high school and was wondering when is the right time to apply for scholarships and for colleges....like is there a such thing as doing it too early? Also can you guys suggest any REAL scholarship spots? I kept getting spams in my e-mail...lol so can y'all hook me up? :) I'd greatly appreciate it

  If you are currently a junior in high school, you will want to start applying for colleges as soon as your senior year begins. Make a list of all the schools that you want to apply to, and go to their websites (usually they will have a page that is called "Admissions") and see when their deadlines are. Many universities have priority admission deadlines in December. For scholarships, you can start looking now, but most scholarships won't be available to you until your senior year starts. As soon as your senior year starts in the fall, be sure to check with your Guidance Counselor for scholarships available, and apply for anything that you can! The website that I used when I was in school, which is the same one that I recommended to students when I later worked at a college, is www.fastweb.com. (Note: Avoid spam by remembering that you NEVER have to pay to submit a scholarship application or your FAFSA application. If the site tries to charge you, run!)
