Can i claim travel expenses?
-
I'm due to start a course at my local college that is under 16hrs a week. At present I'm unemployed but this course is a good step back to work, i claim JSA. So can i get bus fares reimbursed as the cost is quite high.

Answer:
I'm not sure if you will get the full amount but I do think that you should be entitled to some kind of help with your travelling expenses. My nephew was given a one month bus pass when he managed to get back to work. I see no difference between that and further learning which would give you a better chance of employment. Just ask at your local job centre, they will be better suited to give you all the ins and outs of trevelling expenses and how to claim them. Good luck..

you can apply to your council and if they turn you down then you apply to the college, it probably wont be the whole amount though.
