How can I clear my student loan history?

Where can I find a student loan that doesnt require a cosigner or credit history?

  • I need more money for school. I have applied for all types of grants and scholarships and I have filled out my FAFSA. I still need more? Are there any lending companies that would loan me the money if I do not have credit or a cosigner?

  • Answer:

It honestly depends on where you go. If you were offered any government loans, I would take those first, because their interest rates are fixed. However, if those are not enough, or you didn't qualify, you'll have to start looking at banks and stuff. Unfortunately, it really depends on the banks/lenders whether you'll need a cosigner. Some schools will help you out if you can prove hardship and that your parents aren't supporting you, though.

You can get scholarships and grants, and federal stafford loans (up to 20,500 per year) without a cosigner or credit history. Grad Plus and private loans require credit history ratings and if required, a cosigner

Yes, majors and local banks/credit unions/private lenders have student loans programs. A visit to your school's financial aid office is a good idea. Good luck !
