What classes do I need to take to be an accountant?

  The first thing you should do is decide what kind of accounting you like. Governmental, private or public. Each takes the focus in a different direction. For public, think tax accountants, or CPA's. Private, you would work for a business of any size, doing anything from general bookkeeping to becoming a Controller. Governmental, you would be working for a county or state office and depending on your degree level, jobs can vary. Accounting work is consistantly in need and the pay is decent. As with any career, the more you put into your education, the more you will get out of the job.
