Steps to Becoming a Nurse?
-
I'm graduating from high school a year early, so I'm going to be a senior next year. I was unable to fully plan out my future before so now I'm short on time. I'm looking to become a nurse, and eventually a nurse practitioner, in either Pediatrics, Psychiatric, of Family Nursing. Not many schools offer a program to get a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, but they do offer bachelor programs in becoming a Registered Nurse and bachelors of Human Development. What would I be able to do with these degrees and how would I go about becoming a nurse practitioner with these? Thanks for your help. (:

Answer:
You would take the bachelor program for becoming an RN. Then you would need several years of nursing experience and then you can apply to an NP program, currently a Masters program but soon to be a PhD program.
