I'm studying law in a country that has quite a different law to my home country, I fear that I might be studying something unnecessary!! how can I avoid this? would it make a difference if I go for masters after this at a reputed law school? what is the reality? any idea please?

Answer:
All I know is most international students studying law in the US get an LL.M. Your question is a little vague.... but studying the law of a completely different country might not help you too much (besides adding to your analytical reasoning skills).
