What are some good junior colleges in Texas?

What are good colleges in texas that don't require you to take the writing part on the ACT?

  • okay i'm really thinking about going to college in texas, but most of the schools i want to go to require the writing plus part on the ACT. i took the ACT writing in February and made a perfect score on the writing part. overall i made a 17 on the ACT. i already called the university of texas at austin and texas a&m and they confirmed that every time that you take the ACT you have to take the ACT plus writing. but every time you take the writing part that's $49.50 and its much cheaper if you take it without the writing part $35.00. basically i don't want to take the writing part every time i have to retake the ACT, so what are good colleges in texas that don't require you to take the writing part on the ACT?

  • Answer:

Any nationally ranked university will require the writing portion to be completed every time you take the ACT. It sounds like you did wonderfully on this portion the first time around. It's unfortunate they are charging $50 every time but that's just something you'll have to do. A 17 on the ACT is actually below average and I don't know of any nationally ranked university that would even accept such a low score; I suggest you study hard before taking it again.
