Question about out-of state tuition?

I have a question about out of state tuition?

  • I am considering transferring to North Carolina State University this fall, and I am from California. In state tuition is only $8000 a year, with the requirement that you have been living in NC for a year. I am planning on living off campus, will I be eligible for in state tuition my second year or will I be classified as out of state because that is what I was when I applied?

  • Answer:

No. Once you start college in North Carolina, you can't become a resident for tuition purposes. You will be out-of-state for your whole education.
