What is LPN and RN?

Info on LPN and RN what should I do?

  • I want to go to school within driving distance from my house and only go to school for two years or less. I was thinking about getting into nursing but wanted to ask some questions. I believe a vocational school in my area offers a course for LPN's I was thinking about doing that I belive it is a year. I know a RN can make really good money but can you only go for two years and become a RN? If I only go for two years will it even be worth it? What kind of jobs would I be able to do? I really don't want to go to school for 4 years but want a half decent job so that I can do my art on the side which is my passion. I also like the idea of helping people and living at home will help me save money.

  • Answer:

If you don't want to attend more than 2 years than the LPN is your best choice. You can get an associate degree in nursing which is generally 2 years but you have to have preq's first which is another year so thats a total of 3 years. The LPN can be done in one year and you can bridge over later to get your RN which you can usually get done in about 2 years or so. Good luck with your studies.
