Answer:
4 for undergrad 2 for masters and then i think 2 more for PHD and then you have residency where you learn on the job. i think its about 10 years. get your math and chemistry up as high as you can in highschool to make life easier. and try and take as many Advanced Placement (AP) cources as you can you can cut out at least a semester of course work if you can pass them. and start studying organice chemistry now. if you really want to get ahead of the game you will go down to your local college at the end of the semester and ask if they are keeping the same organic chemistry book for next semester if not you can pick one up for a couple of bucks and if they are you can still ask students selling back their books if you can buy it instead of them selling it back. thats a real easy way to get up to date text books at a low price. but you will be fine as long as you talk to your counselor and have a plan in mind you will do fine.

If you're set on a school, you could check their website or contact someone from that department of the school. In most cases, it requires four years to get pre-med, then an additional four years to go to med school, but it depends on how many credits you take per semester of college and if you enter college with any credits (like AP or dual credit). Also, at UMKC there is a program where you can become a Dr. after 5 years I believe (it may be 6), but it is very intense. My best advice is to look around at different schools and see what has the best programs.

Four years of college. Four years of medical school. Four to seven years of residency. And more from there if you want!

I believe it is 6 to 8 years depending on what degree and what type of physician/surgeon you are going for - and even still could require more time than that
