What are some good universities in Scotland?

Can any one tell me the top ten universities of scotland?

    There isn't 10 but they are all good, St. Andrews, Glasgow, Strathclyde, Paisley, Stirling and Caledonia, Heriott watt in Edinburgh.

Glasgow and Edinburgh both think they are tops overall. Aberdeen and St. Andrews both think they are in the top four, if not the top three, overall. Strathclyde is a very good all-round institution. In a few special fields, Stirling, Dundee, and Heriot-Watt are tops or top equal (e.g. Stirling - literature, media studies, Dundee - mathematics, Heriot-Watt - petroleum engineering and chemical engineering). There are quite a few other Scottish Universities which I have no first- or second-hand knowledge of, so any one of them might actually be the best for whatever subject you intend.
