I have a school loan, well I took a semester off.

Should I get a masters degree even though I have no money for college?

  • I have one more yr of college to go until I receive my ba in speech and marketing. I have the pell grant but that is not enough money for tuition. Last semester I took a loan out for 5000 and I will need another loan next school yr because I don't have enough money for college. I was going to go to get my masters in communication disorders since I want to be a speech therapist but idk if that's a good idea. I also want to pursue my real dream as a cosmetologist and opening up my own business doing makeovers and selling jewlery and accessories..I also want to be a local singer and a photographeier bc I love to shoot and develop black and white photography but I was going to do that after I got my degree so I could get a good Paying job to support my dream

    Be very careful about taking out loans for further education. In today's economy, an advanced degree is no guarantee of a job with a suitable income. Student loans are non-dischargeable. You will need to pay on them, even if you have no income. Think about what you want to do before jumping into graduate school. It sounds like you're very talented and would like to experience a variety of work scenarios. I would recommend finishing your BA. Then, spend a couple of years just pursuing that which interests you. Now is the time for self-discovery in your life. Experience life. Explore the options available to you. The sky is the limit and graduate school does not have to be a part of it. Good luck on your exploration!
