Can I get into the University of Texas?

Can I get into University of Texas Austin or USC?

  • I am a Korean female and I have around a 3.2 GPA unweighted. I have taken honors in: English for 3 years, History for 1 year, and Science for 2 years. I am now starting my senior year and I am taking: regular English, regular Pre-Calc., AP US Govt. Poli., Honors Spanish 4, and Intermediate Ceramics. I have taken the SAT's and I scored a 1600, and I am currently practicing and my scores are getting higher on my practice tests (last week I got a practice test score of 1770). If I get a SAT score of 2000+, will I be able to have a fair chance in getting into UT or USC? EXTRACURRICULARS: I was the president of a club for one year. Also, I will be interning at the Democrat Offices for a school assignment. I am going to volunteer at YMCA and Working Wardrobes this weekend. I am also a 2nd degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do, and I have competed in a championship, (although I didn't win a medal. :/) I also received some Tae Kwon Do referee training. So what do you guys think? Do I you guys think I can get in to UT or USC? Please only helpful answers from people who know what they are talking about.

  • Answer:

Your resume looks good. I think you need to take the ACT for USC though... I went to USC (it's a hard school to get into). Your GPA might keep you out, check the current requirement. I think I took both the SAT, SAT II, and ACT.
