Career in the Beauty Industry.

A-Levels Options... Stuck.?

• So its come to the time in my life where i need to chose my a-level options. I have picked Business Studies Eng lang Psychology Photography However when telling most people including my family. There reaction is usually pretty upsetting due to the choice of photography. But at my photography club at school we recently put up a display featuring our work, and my parents heard about it and asked why I didn't tell them about my work being up there. Im like er.. bit shocker why I didn't tell you... I also heard my English teacher telling another student that he thought english language was pointless. Anyways at the end of the day for a career i'd like to do something related to the beauty and fashion industry but mainly on the business side? (hence the business studies) So my question is what should i do? Do i go with my gut instinct? In that case what do I say the next time anyone makes a rude comment about my choice? Or should i change my options to keep people happy? Or to make my career aspirations more likely? Thank you charl x

  What makes you happy, is exactly what you should do. If you do anything else, then you'll regret it, for the rest of your life. Just remember, you'll have to pay bills and put food in your kitchen. As long as you can do that, while being happy, than that is great! I remember when I told my family that I wanted to be a neurosurgeon. Everyone gasped and was asking me if I was up for another 11 years of school (4 in medical school and 7 in residency). I knew that I was going to be happy becoming a neurosurgeon and as long as I was feeling that way, everyone else in my life would fall into line, supporting me. If they aren't supporting your decisions, they don't trust you the way the should. That is when you should sit them down and explain to them that their support is necessary and, if they are unable to provide this, they will likely not be a part of your awesome life as a Photographer!
