What is Med School like?

  • I've decided to go to Med School and was wondering what classes and the schedule is like. What dissections are done? I'm thinking about doing Anesthesiology for my specialty in residency. Thank You

  • Answer:

My classes (a million years ago, when dinosaurs roamed the earth) were all day, M-F, I think 8-4 or 8-5. You get no choice in what you take or when. The whole class takes the same courses at the same time. You can lookup what those classes are online. We dissected a cadaver the first year. It took the whole year. The last 2 yrs are clinical, and hours are whatever they tell you they are. There are weekends and nights on call. Keep an open mind about specialty choice. You don't decide until you apply for residency positions.
