Is doing a diploma of management very beneficial?

Is Diploma of Law and Management the same with Foundation of Law/Pre-U of Law?

  • I've checked the website that taking the Law and Management course provide legal and management knowledge and skills to function as paralegal professionals. What is a paralegal professional? Is it the same with lawyer? Is the course of Diploma of Law and Managment the correct route to study to become a lawyer?Because I want to become a lawyer and I have to choose the right course to study now.

  • Answer:

A Lawyer is licensed to set fees and give legal advice. A Paralegal is not, because they are unauthorized to practice law. The training to be a Lawyer is not only more broad, but in depth, where as the training a paralegal receives is really only only relevant to what they need to know the carry out tasks, not solve legal problems. So a degree as a Paralegal is not what you want. You can go to law school from almost any bachelor's degree, as long you have fulfilled the Pre-Law requirements which usually involve various courses in: Accounting Agricultural Education and Studies Communication Studies Criminal Justice Studies Economics English History Human Development and Family Studies Journalism and Mass Communication Management Philosophy Political Science Speech Communication What I would do is talk to a Pre-Law advisor at your school or university you want to attend, and they can direct you to a good complimentary major that fits your interests.
