How to make a perfect presentation?

How to make my Powerpoint presentation stand out?

  • I have to discuss an academic research article through a Powerpoint presentation and I would like some tips as to how to make it stand out. My research paper is about consumers' willingness to adopt ecological consumption habits. I did a Powerpoint presentation with a friend a couple of months ago and we decided to give handouts to our audience with additional information. I think it helped us to stand out as we were the only students to do so. However, I would like to do something more original for my next presentation. Thanks for your help. PS: I wasn't sure which category to choose for my question so sorry if it's the wrong one.

  • Answer:

I think the presentation needs to be colourful. A really pale blue is what I always use as a background colour as it is pleasant to look at and not too bad on peoples eyes (really JUST off white sort of blue!). I like to use a colour for the text as people often change the background but leave the text black. Because of the topic of your presentation I think green could be good for your presentation as it's about customers and I feel like green would fit. That's just a personal feeling.

Its a serious subject, but to make it more interesting why not use some physical examples as well? some humour may also be good but keep it short and move swiftly back to the subject as soon as the laughter stops otherwise you will detract from the subject.
