How hard is AP english literature and composition?

Do high school AP Literature and Composition count as an acceptable college course in English composition?

  • This question is referring to "The Universitywide Analytical Writing Placement Examination." You have to take a writing exam if you do not have one of the following: a score of 680 or higher on the College Board SAT Reasoning Test; a score of 30 or higher on the ACT Combined English/Writing test; a score of 3, 4, or 5 on the Advanced Placement English Language or Literature exam; a score of 5 or above on the International Baccalaureate Higher Level English A exam; a score of 6 or higher on the International Baccalaureate Standard Level English A exam; or a grade of C or higher in an acceptable college course in English composition.

  • Answer:

I would assume it depends on the school. I am currently at UCLA and passing the AP lit and comp tests help you bypass the entry writing requirement. But you still need to fulfill a couple other writing requirements.
