Good Universities for an English Major/Major in Humanities?

  • I am looking for a good list of universities who offer good programs for the humanities, or universities who only offer program in the humanities. I'm currently considering avoiding science themed majors, and i have very good marks in the humanities. Are there any universities that anyone can recommend?

    Any answer given here, unless they just cut and paste US News Rankings or something, will have opinions, and as my experiences are here in the Northeast (I'm a teacher) I'm going to mention some good schools in this general region... (Schools I've heard good things about, and the alumni I've met are people I am impressed by) For a Bachelor's degree. (B.S or B.A) Picking these is similar to picking out a good CD. Some music is right for some people, but not right for others. No undergraduate experience is for everyone.
