What universities can I potentially get into?

What universities can i get into with a 2.6 gpa?

  • Its been officially calculated that by the end of 2nd semester, i'll have a 2.6. if you know of any universities in VA or NC that will take this my gpa -please let me now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Answer:

Try ECU(east carolina university). Average GPA is 3.4 but they accept 76% of applicants and the average high school SAT score is between 905-1090. You should also check out Virginia State University. 2.8 is average GPA, accepts 78% of students, and average SAT score is between 810-960. But hopefully your SAT scores are higher than this. Good luck!!!!

It's definitely not true that no college would accept you with a 2.6 GPA. It's rare, yes, but not impossible. Do a College Match search on collegeboard.com. Answer the GPA questions in the range of your GPA and location questions with the specific states you would prefer to go to school in, as well as any other criteria, and it will give you a list of all of the colleges that meet your preferences.

Depends on your SAT (you're east coast...do you do ACT instead?) whichever. That plays in, along with letters from teachers, how good your high school is, and where you placed in your class. Also, writing ability is a huge deciding factor...they do actually read all those essays you have to send. They're usually read by students who know what they're doing, so keep that audience in mind. Generally speaking, the top half has a realistic shot at a 4 year school of some kind. You won't be looking at private schools, but you might have a shot at a state school. If not, do community college/junior college for a year or two, do well, and you might be able to transfer your credit to a 4-year program and pick up halfway through. If you do that, you'll def. save a buttload of money by doing your first years for cheap. It's pretty much wide open for you now. Bottom line is you apply where YOU want to go, and the worst they can say is no. If you don't know what you want to major in yet, though, don't waste money at a 4-year school trying to figure that out- get it together at a community college. And do apply to at least 4 places, and if you're looking at 2 or 3 different types of school altogether, make it 6 or 7 or even more. Visit them all if you can. Get after it! You don't have to decide today- you might wind up floating around for another year or two, and that's totally OK.

Dont listen to the people that wrote here beforehand. I think you should go on collegeboard.com and look at some colleges in the area. There are percentages accepted with certain gpas. It is a very helpful website specifically for higher education. Also, it could be beneficial to go to a community college first.

I would think any small state schools or a community college. Your grades aren't that bad, so I would use College Board. Good Luck!

A college which may accept a 2.6 gpa will usually be a community college which is open to all residents. Any of the better schools will only accept a token few with such a low gpa if any at all. They do have a reputation to uphold and a source of funding which they must maintain.

I would imagine any community college. Most accept people who haven't even graduated. You have to take an entrance exam. Don't think they're real difficult either. Good Luck!

Nothing...For Laney College in California you need a 2.8 AT LEAST. And its a community college. Too bad too sad.
