How competitive are Optometry schools?

Post-bac schools before entering optometry school please?

I am thinking of going to take post-bac to upgrade my GPA and to take pre-reqs to enter optometry school. I have messed up in college and got a 2.89 GPA. i majored in econ and haven't taken any pre-req science couses so i thought if i do well in post-grad i would have a chance of getting accepted. Could anyone help me or recommend me colleges that offer post-bac? and which program i should enroll to get ready for optometry school? would i not have a chance even if i do well from now on?

Look at the program at Mills College in California. It admits both men and women and has an excellent placement ratio for schools in the health professions.
