What grammar is necessary for IELTS?

Is there any change in content between IELTS ACADEMICS & IELTS GENERAL ?

• Is there any change in content between IELTS ACADEMICS & IELTS GENERAL ? or The Preparation for Academics is enough for General ...? arggggh ...am pretty confused about the IELTS stuff ....heres the situation , i prepared for IELTS academics but i didnt write it yet . Now i have got a call back from the college in singapore i have applied b4. Since i studied english from the secondary , i dont need IELTS for that college . so now am plannig to write IELTS general . Does IELTS general helps during the Job search after My MBA ......?? Does certain companies need that ? can i write IELTS general with the preparation i have done for Academics ..??

  Speaking part is the same but otherwise yes, it does change, as Academic is directed at people looking forward to study in an anglophone country, so they're asked questions in a more college-like milieu (e.g. writing a report) while GT is more about English being used in 'real life' (e.g. writing a complaint to a phone company if a product you bought doesn't work). Neither is 'easier' or 'harder' per se, but it depends on the particular situation. At the end of the day, if your English is good, you should excel at any related test (TOEFL, IELTS A, IELTS GT, etc.), so don't worry.
