What does it take for an International student to get into a school that does Film and Television Studies?

I am 20 years old and I have been out of school for 2 years. I already know that I need a visa & so on to get into the country, but what kind of exams do I need to take? Can you please properly define some of the terms commonly used in college applications and also school requirements? Does it matter that I presently live in Jamaica?
