What jobs require someone to take Visual Arts courses?

Is it important for me to take computer courses in high school?

  • I was just wondering if I wanted to take business courses in university should I be taking computer courses in high school? So far, I have taken info tech 9 and next semester I have the choice to take ceramics or a computer course (like Desktop publishing, media arts, or computer programming) My question is, are these courses recommended for jobs in corporate or office jobs, since they use computers a lot? Thank you so much! :D

    if you are going to go into the business field, it will look great to college admissions if they see a lot of classes that laid a foundation for the ones you will take as a business major. these classes are business and marketing and math and english, obviously, and computers is a huge one because things are becoming so much more technology based. if that is the path you want to take, prepare yourself as much as you can now so that you'll be more motivated to stick with it later on. also, for certain typist and receptionist positions (good off season jobs for a business major) require a certain typing speed, so yes they will help. also, knowing all aspects of the computer and it's software is key - i just finished a data input job that required that. good luck with your schooling, just don't beat yourself up too hard now; you're young!

Think of ways that you can "fill your toolbox". You say your going to take Business Courses in University, which is great. But lets say for instance, you start your own business after School. All these extra little tools that you picked up along the way will help you. Think about it......is "Ceramics" REALLY going to help you get ahead in life? or will knowledge of technology. Little courses like your computer course are looked at by employers as an asset. 90% of the time the employer would look for people with these extra skills, even if they are not required for the job you might be applying for......it's just looked at as another tool that you are bringing to the table. Educate yourself......you'll be happy you did.
