What is the difference between social service and social worker?

What is the difference between social worker vs. social service worker with a masters degree?

  • just needed to ask for a friend. maybe you can help me with this and tell me what they do to help peole, she is going for her psychology soon and i was just wanting to ask this first. thank guys ps, she wants to work in the hospitle for this kind of job.

  • Answer:

Both require quite a bit of work. I'm in Canada so it may be different, but Social Workers tend to work away from the hospital and more in the community. Though there are generally a few (note few...not many at all) spots in the hospitals. Anything with a masters degree is optimal because it gives you a LOT more options. Obviously if two ppl applied for the same job (pretty much any job) the one with the masters (and the experience that comes with that degree) will be hired first. So basically the difference ends up being that the social worker works more and gets paid less...with fewer options. Hope that helped :)
