How to get an internship?

How long does a spring internship last? Can I get an internship out of state?

  • I'm a finance student currently taking 300 level finance core classes. I still have four 400 level classes after this semester then I'm pretty much done with college (which means one more semester). I want to get a finance internship before I graduate. I v heard people say summer internships are the best. So i v been wondering, should I start my internship next spring or summer? Here are two options: 1. Take an internship in spring, then finish up 400 level classes, graduate in either august / december (depends on how many 400 lvl classes are available in summer) 2. Finish up 400 lvl classes in spring semester, then get an internship in summer. But the question is, if I finish up 400 lvl classes in spring, am I already considered graduated? can I still get an internship after that?

  • Answer:

You can get an internship in any state you want. I know one guy who lived in Pennsylvania and did his internship in California! So you can go basically anywhere you want. In fact, if you truly wanted, you could probably go anywhere in the world. I don't think either season will be any better for you. Summer's usually better because it's more convenient for people and there are probably more of them. But for something like finance, it won't really matter.

They can be anything from a week to a semester long. It depends on the needs of the people offering the internship.
