What should I bring to college?

What are good things to bring to college for your first year?????

  • I leave for college in the fall and i have no idea what i should bring .. please help... I'm living with my best friend in a dorm.. and we really need idea's of what we should bring??? please help !!!!!

    A computer, bedding, laundry basket, shower caddy, shower shoes, coat hangers, school supplies, t.v., dvd player, iron, lamp, mirror, toiletries, basic platewear, snacks, laundry detergent, ironing board, shoes, organizational bins, trash can, trash bags, air cleaner, disinfectant cleaning supplies and a rug.

There are many references online that suggest lists of items. I strongly suggest waiting until you get there to buy all the things you don't already have - stores near campus usually have great deals on mini-refrigerators, irons, beanbag chairs, etc. Also, you will find that some things just don't apply to you - desk lamps, doorstops, dorm furniture, microwaves, etc. are all things that you might want in some dorms but not need in others.

definitely flip-flops for the shower...also if your bathroom is down the hall (as mine was) bring some sort of waterproof basket for hauling your toiletries back & forth to the shower. alarm clock, lamp, favorite pillow & bed linens. also, make it homey for yourselves with pictures, posters, etc.
