What options do i need to take to become a midwife?

  • hi, i am in year nine and i have just been given my options sheet to choose what GCSE's i want to do. i have to do maths, english, R.E, citizenship and science however i get an extra 4 subjects on what i want to take. i really really really want to become a midwife it is my dream to welcome new born babies into the world. i can ither take heath and social or triple sicence (physics,chemistry and biology) what shall i choose? i was thinking about taking sociology also but i have to ither take heath ans social or triple science. i just dont know which one would help me on my path to become a midwife??? please give me some advice on which one to choose. Thank you x

    Either health and social or triple science would be useful. However I recommend choosing triple science, as you might change your mind later on and you don't want to be limited by your GCSE choices. Psychology would be more useful than Sociology. In future when in doubt look at the entry requirements for the universities you want to attend. You can find this on their websites or in prospectuses in your school library
