What Can I Do With a Degree in History?

Anyone know what a person can do with a degree in History?

  • I've been interested in history for most of my life that i can remember, I'd like to go to school for history but i DO NOT want to be a teacher(high school, college nothing) does anyone have any Ideas on what to do, besides teaching, with a degree in history? Im interested in both public relations and history(focusing on medevil)

  • Answer:

You can go to Law school, work for the government, become a librarian, research, work in a museum, be invovled in politics, or do something unrelated. It is a liberal arts degree so you can do pretty much anything with it.

People with degrees in history write books, hold political offices, work in the news media. All kinds of things.

Much of the alternative history careers, such as working at a museum require you also obtain an advanced degree. You could also double major in journalism for the public relations angle.

The Big Shot

you could be a museum curator or a tour guide in an old city
